Fill your mom’s home with flowers to brighten her day. Rather than buying her one vase full of flowers, why not buy a whole flat of flowers and plant them in a variety of different colorful pots. Place the potted plants around her kitchen or on the window sills and mom can enjoy their pretty blooms all summer long.

Instead of using real flowers you can infuse the look of flowers in mom’s home by placing a colorful tablecloth or placemats on your kitchen or dining room table. You can even add colorful chair pads to the chairs for added comfort. Cook mom a wonderful Mother’s Day meal and serve her at her pretty new table.

Maybe mom’s furniture is looking a little worn. If that’s the case then why not purchase a slipcover to give her sofa or chair new life. Add a couple of new throw pillows or cover her existing pillows with new pillow covers to add a burst of spring color.

Create a photo collage on the wall, the fireplace mantel, or on a sofa table. Place pictures of you, your siblings, her grandchildren, or other important people in her life in frames and arrange them in an attractive grouping. Black and white photos look particularly good in a variety of black or silver frames that are grouped together in one area.

You can also give mom some well needed help around the house by cleaning the bathroom, organizing the garage, painting a room, or just dusting the furniture. Of course, ask mom’s permission first before you make any permanent changes to her home!
