Style and Storage in Kitchens and Dining Rooms
Adding some unique furniture pieces to your decor can be a great way to give your home some personality and style while also adding some well needed extra storage space to rooms that do not have nearly enough closets or cabinets…which is the case in most homes.
In the kitchen, you can never have enough storage space for all your pots and pans, towels, dry goods, or those cooking pieces that you only use once or twice a year. So, adding a freestanding furniture piece that offers extra storage is both functional and fashionable. Consider adding a pie safe or jelly cupboard to the kitchen for these purposes. In the dining room you can always use a sideboard for a little extra serving space. Sideboards also offer storage for your utensils, linens, or serving pieces. These pieces usually have plenty of underneath storage space along with glass display cases above that you can store and show off your finer dining pieces.
You can also add a wine cabinet to any room where you will be storing, serving, or enjoying the occasional bottle of wine. Wine needs to be stored lying down and this can take up a lot of space, so using a wine cabinet can solve this wine storage dilemma. Wine cabinets also come with extra cabinets, drawers, or hanging racks where you can keep your wine glasses and accessories.
