Choosing the Right Table Size
Choosing a table may seem like a simple task, but there are a few things you need to consider before you invest in a quality kitchen or dining room table. You need to make sure that your table is the right size and shape for the room and that it is going to fulfill your family’s lifestyle, needs, and budget.
Many times people will buy furniture without thinking about how well it is going to fit into the room. With a table you need to make sure that there is enough room between the table itself and the walls that surround it to accommodate the chairs as well as enough room for people to walk around it comfortably. In general, there should be at least three and a half feet of space between the edge of the table and the nearest wall.
Keep in mind how many people will be using the table on a regular basis, but also consider that you will occasionally need more table space for entertaining. Buying a table that has removable leaves is ideal because you can extend the size of the table when needed. Don’t forget to purchase additional chairs as well that will fit around the table when fully extended.
While there are plenty of inexpensive tables out there, purchasing a sturdy, well made table is worth the extra money. There is nothing worse than a wobbly table that is only going to last a couple of years, so think carefully about your dining room and kitchen table needs and invest in a high quality wooden table that will last a lifetime.
