Tables, Tables, and More Tables
Every room of the house needs tables. We use them to place lamps on for lighting, to keep drinks and snacks nearby, to highlight art or plants, and to have a place to store books, remotes, or other small items. Without tables we would constantly have to be bending down to pick things up off the floor, so consider some of these different table options and appreciate how tables make our lives easier.
There are many different types of tables that are useful in the living room. The coffee table is the perfect place to serve snacks, display books, or to rest your feet while watching the tube. Coffee tables come in all shapes and sizes, from rectangular to square to round to oval, so there is literally a coffee table for any size or shape living room. Sofa tables are perfect for behind the sofa or up against an awkward wall. Sofa tables are great for displaying collectibles or storing extra blankets for those chilly nights. No living room would be complete without an end table or two. End tables serve a very important function in the living room because they are small enough to fit into any small space and provide a place to set lamps and keep remotes nearby.
Of course, the dining room would be practically useless without tables. Dining room tables serve as a place to gather together the family for special meals and can also serve as a place to do homework or as an impromptu office space. Dining room tables can be as small or large as you like, but the most useful ones are expandable with extra leaves that can be used when entertaining large groups. Other tables can be extremely useful in the dining room, such as buffet tables or sideboards. These long, thin tables are designed to fit into smaller spaces up against the wall and are meant to serve as extra serving and storage space for the dining room. You can find buffets and sideboards that have a variety of different drawers, cabinets, wine racks, and other options that will make entertaining easier. You can even get ones that are specifically made to store the extra table leaves you might have for your expandable dining room table while they’re not in use.
